SOSL’s Response and Actions Being Taken Regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

    Posted on May 13, 2020

We want you to know that the SOSL Leadership Team is aware of the growing concern surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its implications to the health of our SOSL Community.  Even in this time of great disruption, SOSL wants you to know – You are not alone!  SOSL is still here for you, and we are doing everything we can to continue to provide our much-needed services and protect the health of our group facilitators and participants.

Yesterday, the San Diego Health Departments has asked that all smaller events can proceed only if the organizers can implement social distancing of six feet per person. We are in the process of looking at each group to determine if they can meet under the current guidelines.  In many cases, the facilities where our groups meet, will not allow us to hold groups at this time.

However, SOSL wants to continue to be there for those in our community who are struggling after the loss of suicide.  We are working through the process of offering an online option for those groups until we can again meet in person.

Please check our website – groups’ calendar – https://www.soslsd.org/support-groups/ – regularly for the most current information about our groups.  We will note if the group will take place online – and list the contact for information to join the group. This situation is very fluid and changes happen quickly.  We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through all the details. Also, feel free to contact your group facilitator for the current status of your group.

Other supports SOSL is continuing to offer is our Warmline – 619 482-0297 and our phone and email support team.  https://www.soslsd.org/support/phone/

We understand the uncertainty of this situation might be causing some additional anxiety for many of us.  The San Diego Access and Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day at 888 724-7240.

Together, we will make it through this current situation!
