There were many wonderful organizations nominated this year. San Diego’s It’s Up to Us Campaign (www.Up2SD.org) was also awarded this year’s Community Choice Award, and we are honored to stand alongside them.  The It’s Up to Us Campaign’s mission is to educate San Diegans on talking openly about mental illness, recognize symptoms, and to seek help when needed.  SOSL works closely with It’s Up to Us, as part of the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council.

We are grateful to be recognized for the work we are doing.  Moreover, we are encouraged that organizations focused on suicide survivor support and suicide prevention are being honored.  The more we are able to talk about suicide and how it has affected our lives, the more people we can help – the more people we can save.

This has been an award-winning year for SOSL!  We were the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from San Diego’s Suicide Prevention Council in June. On October 18, 2014, SOSL received The Innovative Partnership Award from Recovery International.  Bonnie Bear proudly accepted this award at Recovery International’s Leadership Training Conference.

Thank you to Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP) and Recovery International for honoring Survivors of Suicide Loss! We are proud to work alongside both of these wonderful organizations.
