MEG’S STORY: “The more I talk about it, the easier it gets.”

    Posted on May 14, 2011

“I walked through those doors and I met two people who had had a similar experience, and every feeling that I expressed was validated.”

SOSL Support Groups provide a comfortable, non-threatening setting to share your experiences and thoughts. Or you may just want to listen. But being with those who have had a similar experience, who can understand in a special way, is a gift the group shares with one another, a gift that may not be available elsewhere.

Anyone who has lost a family member or friend is invited to attend. All groups are free of charge and no prior registration is needed. All of the groups listed on the calendar are conducted by SOSL and are not affiliated with the venue listed, e.g. hospital, community center, church, etc.

For more information about any of the groups, please call us at (619) 482-0297 or use our Contact Us form.

“Carving out that time in my schedule to take care of myself and recognizing that’s part of my mental health is to go there. I find the more I talk about it, the easier it gets. The more open I am in the group, the more open I can be with other people in my life.”
