    Attitude of Gratitude

    Posted on October 14, 2015

With grateful hearts, we extend our sincere thanks to Jenni Morel for her creative, dedicated service to SOSL for the past 2 ½ years as Director of Development.

While here at SOSL, Jenni singlehandedly created and edited the first SOSL book, Beyond Surviving.   This book contains more than 35 personal stories from 25 people who have survived the loss of a loved one to suicide.  Stories of shock, denial, anger, healing and eventually finding hope beyond surviving.

    Friend & Jenni

Jenni initiated the STRENGTH for the Journey 5K Run in June 2015 which was an amazing success!  And, thanks to Jenni, our newsletter, Hope & Comfort  has a new look with improved content.

Jenni secured various grants and increased overall donations to SOSL which has enabled us to expand our services to support survivors.  In addition, Jenni has worked tirelessly with Scott, our webmaster, to improve the website, making it beautiful, expanding the content and making it more user-friendly.  As our Facebook administrator, she has generated extraordinary activity on our page, providing challenging and inspirational messages that encourage survivors far beyond San Diego.

Finally, Jenni has been an inspirational representative of SOSL in the community, participating actively on several committees and lending her expertise in many areas. Her caring, optimistic attitude is contagious and she makes a lasting impact in all she does.

Although Jenni’s career is taking a new direction, we are grateful she will return as an SOSL Board member.  Thank you Jenni, we look forward to many more years of working with you to make a difference in the support of survivors and increasing suicide awareness and prevention.
