    Suicide Prevention Trainings

    QPR – Question, Persuade, Refer  Suicide Prevention Training– offered at no cost through Community Health Improvement Partners. If you would like one of the SOSL instructors to teach your QPR training, please contact us.  Length of presentation  60-90 minutes.

    The 3-ventions of Suicide Prevention – Prevention, Intervention, Postvention – Presented by Kim Bozart, LCSW and SOSL past Board President,

    There are three vital components to an effective suicide prevention program. Awareness – what to know before a suicidal crisis. Intervention – what to do during a suicidal crisis.  Postvention – what to do after a suicide.  Kim and Joyce present this topic from the clinical point of view while interweaving lived experience through the talk.  Suggested time 60-90 minutes.

    Suicide Prevention for Students (Middle School through University)
    Camille Currier

    Camille lost a brother (age 24) and a son (age 22) and found SOSL after losing her son to suicide. She is an active SOSL Board Member. Camille presents her story with memories of her son as she interweaves suicide awareness, statistics, prevention and post-vention information throughout the talk. She has spoken to numerous junior and senior high school and college students in the San Diego area. Being active as a speaker has allowed her to cope with the loss of her brother and son and allowed her to help others who may be in crisis. Camille is available to present to junior and senior high students in addition to college students.
