Post-traumatic Growth After Suicide –presented by Kim Bozart, LCSW and Board President.
Suicide is a traumatic death that shatters the lives of those left behind. The workshop will provide a clear understanding of the psychological and emotional challenges faced by survivors of suicide loss, and why some experience post-traumatic growth. This Trauma Informed Care presentation, it explains the process of growth after a tragedy. Those left behind after suicide can do more than survive, they can hope that their life can transform in positive ways.
Maya Angelou said, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” This presentation will show how those left behind after a suicide can not only survive, but with hard work and proper support over time, move into a new beautiful life. The material will be presented by Kim Bozart, a licensed clinical social worker, and Joyce Bruggeman, a survivor of suicide loss. Providing the information from the clinical point of view, along with real life examples will bring greater understanding to the topic.
