Suicide Survivors can help themselves by helping others...

San Diego County has an average of 30 suicides each month. There are at least 6 persons profoundly affected by every suicide. If you have been affected by a suicide of a family member or friend, consider the following ways you can help others:

-Make a donation to S.O.S.L. Funds are needed to provide outreach materials, services and information for survivors in need.

-Volunteer to speak about suicide. Help is needed for presentations to community groups such as crisis teams, police departments, schools and churches.

-Write your story. The Survivors of Suicide Loss newsletter needs your help.

-Help facilitate a survivors support group. The support groups are an important part of the healing process.

-Coordinate creation of a Memory Quilt. We have one quilt completed and we would like to make another one to display at community events.

-Assist with clerical work. S.O.S.L. can put your clerical skill to good use. Help is needed to update and create labels for the quarterly SOS Newsletter. Our database is on a disk ready to use on any PC.

-Assist with grant writing or fund raising.

-Call (619) 482-0297 to help in any way you can.
